MEMO2: MEthane goes MObile – MEsurements and MOdelling

Back home – already

2 July 2018

Time is flying – the cruise ended already and we are back home. The last days were really intense with sampling the CTD every two hours, aiming on a high-resolution picture from what is going on under our feet. We took a lot of data and water home, both are now waiting to be analysed. From the methane point of view, the cruise was very unique. Not only that we had the opportunity to stay for 2 days at the same position, samples were also taken from all parts of environment: the sediment, the water column and the atmosphere.

For us the cruise was very successful. We got lots of material to work on, learned a lot, had fun and enjoyed the sunrise. By this I would like to thank all the people, who made this cruise happen, especially Helge Niemann as the cruise leader and the Pelagia team! Thanks and maybe see you the next time.
